Discussions will be led on a rotational basis by Joe Blackstock, John Chambliss, and Wanda Ware. Please note that at this time there are no scheduled activities for children or youth.…

Worship (Phase Three)

Morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary each Sunday morning. On a typical Sunday (outside the guidelines of the pandemic), you’ll want to be in the sanctuary early to greet folks you already know and/or make new friends who are joining us for worship for the first time. In addition, you’ll hear announcements about upcoming events, learn how prayer concerns are shared, and learn more about the daily life of RHBC. As followers of Christ, we worship our…

Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry obtains most of its food from the Feeding America Southwest Virginia Food Bank. Part of what we receive is USDA food which comes at no charge. Because we receive a large percentage of food through the USDA food program, we must operate by rules and regulations which they have implemented. This involves completing required forms for all clients in order to qualify them for USDA food. We are permitted to serve each client once per month. The…

Mission Moment

Outreach through missions is a constant focus of the members of RHBC. To expand our knowledge of the breadth and variety of opportunities for outreach and service in our immediate community, the greater Roanoke Valley, and beyond, we spotlight a mission opportunity during morning worship each month. Either a representative of the mission ministry or a member of our missions team acquaints us with the focus of the ministry and suggests specific ways in which our members might engage in…

At 5:20 p.m. everyone gathers in the fellowship hall for a dinner catered by our cafeteria staff. Following dinner, parents of young children focus on faith in film at 6:00 p.m., while other adults study the Bible with the pastor. And, at 6:00 the children rotate through sessions of children’s choir and Bible…

Alma Hunt Offering

“…so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” The annual offering for Virginia missions is named for Miss Alma Hunt, a native Virginian and member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church, who…

Communion

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then He took the cup and offered it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant which is poured for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when…

Super Sunday

Super Sunday at RHBC is as its name implies–a very busy afternoon! Much of the planning for ministry and mission work of RHBC takes place on this afternoon. Almost every member of the church is an active participant of one or more teams. This teamwork generates ideas which lead to actions spurring outreach to members of the church family, the surrounding community, the greater Roanoke Valley, and beyond! On a typical Super Sunday deacons (a group focused on servanthood) will…
