Leigh Atkinson
Leigh is our Director and is responsible for overseeing all the programming, staffing and administration of our center. She has over 15 years of experience working with children and families. She was a Family Services Specialist with TAP/Head Start, and also worked in the Roanoke City Schools as a Clinician in the Therapeutic Day Treatment Program through Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare. Katie Trear
Katie Trear is our Preschool Coordinator at the CDC. She was a teacher for Roanoke City Public Schools and comes to us with 13 years of teaching experience. Katie has a love for children and she is so happy to be with us! She graduated with a Deaf Education degree from Radford University. Katie and her husband live in Roanoke and have 2 children, Emery and Ryker. Katie and her family attend City Light Church in Roanoke.
Sandra Blackstock
Sandra has been member for 10 years at RHBC. She serves as a Deacon, an office sub, and a member of the decorating, food pantry, and casserole teams. She likes to shop, cook, read, work in her flower gardens, and hang out with her grandkids.
Barbara Vansutphen
Barbara Vansutphen became a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church in 1971 with her husband, David. She has sung in the choir, played bells, and taught Sunday School. She is now the choir mother and office volunteer on Monday. Barbara retired from Verizon Telephone Company with 34 years of service. He loves to travel or just go for rides in the country. Kay Totty
Kay Totty became a member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church on March 27, 2011. Kay is known as “Chaos”. She was given this nickname by Pastor Joe after his second week in the Church Office with her on Wednesdays. She likes to see people happy and likes to make them laugh. She now has “CAOTIC” as her license plate. Wayne Johnson
Wayne Johnson has been a member at RHBC for 50 years. He is interested in traveling, reading books (mysteries or biographies), and keeping active by volunteering. He likes to eat Spaghetti or anything with cheese on it. He once attended Church with President Dwight Eisenhower. He is the Treasurer/ Trustee and Director of Food Pantry Ministries at RHBC.
Brian Hancock
Brian has been a member of RHBC for quite some time and has been an active member of our ministry the entire time. He has two sons, both who are also members of the RHBC family. Cathy Black
Cathy became the church pianist in 2002 and has been a member of RHBC for many years. She is a local elementary music teacher and is in her 35th year of teaching. Cathy also maintains an active piano instruction studio in Roanoke and has one grown son, Kevin.
Pastor Douglas Lidwell
Unlike many others, Pastor Douglas was not raised in church. He was a totally secular man with a degree in Communications and a background in broadcasting. At that time he had no Biblical knowledge, no spiritual awareness, and no interest in the things of God. Pastor Tony Wheeler
Tony Wheeler is from Richmond, Va. He has a degree from Clearwater Christian College in Church Ministries and Minor in History. Tony has been working with students for 24 years. He loves Jesus and is passionate about prayer and family ministry. Tony joined the staff of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church in January of 2019. Tony is married to his wife, Jessie, and they have a son and a daughter. They enjoy running, evening walks, and being together as a family.
