“…so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”
The annual offering for Virginia missions is named for Miss Alma Hunt, a native Virginian and member of Rosalind Hills Baptist Church, who was known worldwide for her missions service and her unswerving dedication to the cause of Christ. The offering provides funding for all WMUV (Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia) missions and ministries and makes possible other special ministries, outreach projects, and initiatives not funded through regular streams of giving (but uniquely connected to Virginia Baptists).
The annual goal and allocation of funds are determined by the Executive Director/Treasurer of WMUV and the Executive Director of the BGAV (Baptist General Association of Virginia) and approved by the their respective boards.
When you carry on the legacy of Alma Hunt by giving to the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions, you are equipping those who seek to share with others how God is setting them free to live and serve.
Take the time to go online and read about specific outreach efforts funded by the offering: providing job skills for women; building relationships with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe of The Dakotas; partnering with churches on the Eastern Shore of Virginia; planting South Ridge Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia; making an impact on a family of churches in Lebanon; and ministering to Burmese refugees in Harrisonburg, Virginia. See how your offering weaves the will and way of God into the lives of people near and far.
Although individuals and churches may contribute to the offering at any time, the week of emphasis at Rosalind Hills Baptist Church for the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions is September 13-20, 2020. How will you impact missions through this offering?
You are invited to give to the Alma Hunt Offering–joining your gifts with those of many other Virginia Baptists as all work Together as One–sharing the love of Christ across the Commonwealth and with the whole world.
